IKATISA Online - Alumni Network

As an alumni organization with members scattered in some different countries, IKATISA sees the importance of having an online community portal in the Internet as a communication channel. With this in mind, IKATISA agreed to collaborate with Menaravisi to design the community web site that can be easily maintained by non-technical site operators in the different countries to keep the community web live and dynamic.

Objectives

Create a multi-lingual dynamic and interactive community web as an effective communication channel that includes membership, news, articles, career, job vacancy, lost & found, discussion forum and member directory.
The site operators and content contributors should be able to update contents inside the web site easily without much technical knowledge.

Solution

As the target audience of this community web is informal and more to drive interactivity among members, we design this with casual style with friendly pictures to make visiting members feel "at home". Since by nature the alumni write in mixed of Indonesian, Chinese and English, we need to technically cover this issue in the programming to make it compatible with all the used languages, both for front end user side and back end site maintenance application.
To ease performance, we integrated our Menaravisi Dynamic Content Management(MDCM) Community Edition site maintenance tool . With MDCM, non-technical administration user will be able to easily update the content of the web site, change the images, update the articles in categories, news/events, faq ,etc. Site Manager can even manage group access privelege and user management online. To further ease usage, MDCM provides online help to guide new site operator step-by-step in each available features.


	Ikatan Alumni Tainan Indonesian Student Association(IKATISA) is a non-profit organization with membership of alumni from National Cheng Kung University(NCKU) in Tainan - Taiwan.
